This particular Kata (techniques comprised of a series of
movements) is taught when Menkyo (a certificate) is given to a student.
This is why it is called this way. Technically speaking, however, it is
called "Shinno-kata" or "Urano-kata." |

In general, there is a distinction between Haya-nawa and Hon-nawa
in Hojo-jutsu. However, only Haya-nawa is handed down as a part of
Karamedori technique in Kukishin Ryu Bojutsu(Of course, the roping
technique is also used at the Menkyo level in Taijutsu). |
