| Kiba Koshiro played a main role when Kukishin Ryu teachers tried to get
together again after World War II, renaming their organization from Kodo
Senyokai Shobukyoku to Nihon Taiiku Kyoku. After the death of Kiba Koshiro,
Tatsuta Yasuichiro, his leading student, took over and got through the
hardest times after the war. |

| One of the conspicuous activities that he undertook was Bo technique
performance before the US Army in 1946, just one year after the war,
which was nothing but an epoch making event at the time when Japan was
occupied by the US. |
Teacher Tatsuta Yasuichiro started learning
martial arts in 1926, and opened a Dojo called "Shudo-kan"
near his birth place in the Shikama Ward, Himeji city, Hyogo prefecture
in 1930. After the death of Kiba Koshiro, he frequented to Nara to learn
from Takamatsu Chosui, a master of Kukishin Ryu. He eventually mastered
the secret of martial arts.
The martial arts he mastered vary, ranging from Judo to Karate. Tatsuta parted from the Kuki
Tatsuta parted from the Kuki family for some reason; he put in effort to
pass what he mastered onto his students at his own Dojo.
Tanbo-jutsu, the art he crystallized what he learned in the course of
his martila arts life into a system, was his great achievement. His
performance of Tanbo-jutsu was made public in 1979 at the fiftieth
anniversary of his Dojo Shinbukan. |

| Bojutsu techniques created by Teacher Tastuta and his Dojo
is passed onto Matsumoto Masao, who is his son in law and the
present head of Dojo, and Yanai Akira and Yamaguchi Taizou, who are both
vice- head of Dojo. The organization is still called "Shudokai,"
and the original form of Kukishin Ryu Bojutsu and Jutsu techniques are
mainly handed down to Teacher Yanai. |
Among teachers under the Soke Kuki, Teacher Fujita Yoshio, who was
a younder dicsiple of Tatsutsa under the same teacher Kiba Koshiro, took
over the business of preserving Kukishin Ryu after Tastuta parted from
the Soke Kuki family and other teachers.
In 1977 "Nihon Kobusho" 1 was established, the Soke
Kuki Takaharu being honorary president. Together with Teacher
Tastuta, they tried to promote the preservation of Kukishin Ryu. The
undertaking, however, petered out due to Takaharu's illness after a
while.

Born on
August 1, 1907, Yasuichiro first learned Kukishin Ryu under Kiba Koshiro;
later he learned under Takamatsu Chosui and was awarded Menkyo Kaiden on
January 17, 1945.
Yasuichiro had penchant for martial arts from his early days and he
mastered Tenshin Shinyo Ryu, Sintou Rikugo Ryu and Senshin Ryu in
addition to Kukishin Ryu.. 1930, he established Shudokan Dojo in Kamo,
Shikama, Himeji, Hyogo prefecture, where his house was. He is the
founder of Tatsuta Ryu Bojutsu based on Kukishin Ryu. The number
of students Yasuichi taught tops several thousand and he received
countless awards including the award given to a person who rendered
distinguished service in martial arts community.In 1952, when he worked
for Shikama-Minato Power Station, Yasuichi arrested a criminal and his
name became well known.
Yasuichi passed away on February 11, 1991 at the age of 85. |

He
was born in 1926 in Inami cho, Inami gun, Hyogo prefecture. After
leaving a flying corps in 1945, Teacher Fujita worked as a technical
official working for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and
Fisherieds, while practicing martial arts very hard.
He first learned Kukishin Ryu under Teacher Kiba Koshiro; later he
learned under Tasuta Yasuichiro and Takamatsu Chosui and received Menkyo
Kaiden in 1946. He is still active as a martial arts teacher at the age
of 70. |
